- Every storage device (laptop SSD/HDD, phone, server drive) is wiped to NIST 800-88 standards at the recycler before material recovery. The cert lists each wipe with the serial number and method. If a device can't be wiped (physical damage), it's shredded and you get a destruction certificate instead.
